The PRESERVE project has many interesting news to share with its stakeholders.
First, the events that will take place in June 2023:
PRESERVE is a European research project that develops solutions to improve the recyclability of food packaging . The 4-year project started in January 2021 and receives funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 multiannual financial framework.
PRESERVE is committed to developing bio-based food packaging by enhancing bio-coatings in order to improve packaging recyclability. At the same time, PRESERVE makes sure that these materials can be upcycled into new containers and textiles for non-food applications.
PRESERVE will develop 10 common packaging items that are 100% based on renewable resources with a minimal environmental impact and improved recyclability in order to easily reintroduce the materials in a circular economy.
The consortium is formed by 26 partners from 10 countries. It covers the whole supply & value chain and brings together comprehensive interdisciplinary pockets of knowledge, assessing the performance of developed solutions and upscale them to introduce new viable circular bio-based packaging solutions into the market.

The PRESERVE project is keen on new collaborations with partners from other EU-funded projects and platforms, both on technological aspects as well as to organise joint activities such as information sharing, events or initiatives that can build on project results. Let’s explore our potential synergies for a cleaner future.
We welcome any inquiry on PRESERVE’s innovative solutions on bio based packaging material from the general public, the press, industry and academia. If you’re interested in knowing more about the project and think what we are working on might bring benefit to your work and research, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us. We are looking forward to discussing with you the relevance of our investigative and applied efforts, especially if this can be an opportunity for your sector.
