ONLINE WEBINAR - Upcycling strategies for the production of sustainable (bio)plastics

On 14 June 2023, the Bio4Plastics group, supported by the Horizon Results Booster initiative, held the online event “Upcycling strategies for the production of sustainable (bio)plastics”.

The event showcased the innovative solutions developed by the EU-Funded projects REWIND, PRESERVE, and upPE-T, which cover the entire biopolymers production chain, complying with the European Strategy for Plastics in a Circular Economy. These projects offer integrated solutions ranging from organic waste management to food packaging and the production of biodegradable plastics.

During the event, REWIND presented a case study on waste cooking oils for polymers, upPE-T highlighted the application of biotechnology in waste valorization for plastic production, and PRESERVE introduced their work on laminates and other materials.

The event concluded with a panel discussion, providing an opportunity to engage with experts in the field and explore the potential for collaboration.

In the table below you can access the PDF presentation and the video of each intervention.
