About the Innovation Radar
The Innovation Radar is an initiative of the European Commission designed to identify and highlight high-potential innovations and innovators emerging from EU-funded research and innovation projects. Its purpose is to make the results of public investment in innovation more visible, accessible, and actionable for a wide audience, from citizens and policymakers to entrepreneurs, investors, and industry stakeholders.
Through the Innovation Radar platform, information on promising innovations developed in high-quality EU projects is made publicly available, helping bridge the gap between research outcomes and market uptake. By showcasing these innovations and the organisations behind them, the initiative supports the creation of a dynamic European innovation ecosystem, connecting innovators with incubators, investors, funding bodies, and business partners that can accelerate their journey to market.
The data featured on the Innovation Radar platform is collected and validated by independent experts involved in the assessment of ongoing EU-funded projects under different programmes. These experts also provide an independent evaluation of each innovation’s level of maturity and market potential, ensuring the reliability and relevance of the information presented. The methodology applied for the analysis of the innovations is publicly available here.
More information about the Innovation Radar initiative is available on its official website, while the Innovation Radar app (Android, iOS) provides a user-friendly way to explore EU-funded innovations through advanced search filters such as keywords, country, technological maturity, market needs, and innovation type.*
Additional EU Support for Maximising Project Impact
EU-funded projects can benefit from Horizon Results Booster, a European Commission initiative offering free expert support to help turn research results into real impact. Innovator organisations involved in Horizon Europe or H2020 projects can apply for services such as Portfolio Dissemination and Exploitation Strategy, Business Plan Development, and Go-to-Market support. Applications can be submitted by anyone in an eligible project via the online application form.
*Please note that while the Innovation Radar website may currently experience temporary accessibility issues, the mobile app remains fully operational and provides full access to the platform’s features and data.
